The Adult Choir is for anyone who loves to sing! We practice on Wednesday nights (come for dinner at 6pm and stay for rehearsal from 7-8pm!) and share our music with the larger church during the 9am worship service on the second and fourth Sundays of the month (September - May). From classical pieces to African spirituals and traditional hymns to contemporary Christian arrangements, you are bound to enjoy singing with this fun group of people and under the leadership of our incredibly talented director, Zack Carlson. All are welcome and encouraged to give the Adult Choir a try. There is a chair waiting for you with your name on it!
We're excited to announce the start of Community's new Children's Choir! Children ages 4-14* are invited to join us for choir practice on Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:20-6:40pm. Under the leadership of Zack Carlson, we will grow our faith through song and share our music approx. once per month during worship. Together we will learn new songs, make friends, praise God and have fun!
* Older children are invited to sing and serve in a leadership role as they desire. Boys with changed voices are encouraged to sing in the Adult Choir.
Psalm 150 encourages us to praise the Lord through a variety of instruments: "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord." These are exciting words and especially true for our bell choir at Community! We have a 3-octave bell choir that utilizes various bell techniques, allowing us to praise God with joy and enthusiasm.
The Bell Choir meets from 6:30-7:30pm on Tuesday nights, September through May. We share our music during the 9am worship service once per month. Please join us!
Our Worship Band is currently comprised of individuals in seventh grade on up through adulthood. They lead our 11am worship service every Sunday morning. During the school year, we practice from 6:20-7pm on Wednesday nights (but if you come a bit earlier, you can walk through the Wednesday Night Dinner line and grab a quick bite before rehearsal begins!). Throughout the year, we also meet on Sundays upon the conclusion of the 9am worship service, and practice until just before worship begins at 11am. Interested in making music with us? Please make note of your desire on the Connect Card and our Worship Leader, Zack Carlson, will be in touch with you shortly.
Are you someone who loves to sing? Perhaps you play the piano? Maybe you’re ready to debut your mandolin skills... Regardless of the instrument, we are always interested in lining up individuals, duos, trios and other groups to share their musical gifts with us during worship. To get on the worship calendar, please contact our Director of Music / Worship Leader, Zack Carlson. Together with Pastor Carrie, Zack will work with you to find a date that corresponds with your schedule and worship service when the theme for the day pairs nicely with your musical selection.
Traditional Worship Pianists
The whole Community is blessed when people share their musical gifts and skills in worship. Two people who do just that are Kari Hanson and Lisa Luebeck, resident pianists for the 9am worship service. Would you like to serve in this capacity as well? Please let our pastor know or sign up below. We are always grateful for backup pianists!
