The Story:  Crossing the Red Sea - Exodus 5-15

Main Point:  There is nothing to fear in life because when we cry out to God, God responds.

Story & Song - Week 1

I Wonder Statement:  I wonder when God has responded to your cries and helped you be brave...

Discussion:

  • What is a time you cried out to God and God responded?
  • When have you acted with bravery?
  • What is the brave act you will do this week?

Interesting Facts about the Red Sea to share with kiddos:

  • The Red Sea gets its name from an algae which turns blue-green water to reddish-brown.
  • Almost no rivers run into the Red Sea.  As a result, it has more salt and is clearer than most other seas.
  • The Red Sea is home to more than 1,200 species of fish (17% of which are only found inside the Red Sea).  There are also 40 different species of sea-stars, eight different species of dolphins and whales, and four different species of turtles.
  • Nine countries share the shoreline of the Red Sea.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for responding when we cry out and helping us be brave.
