Stress & Anxiety

/stres/     Stress is a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances.

/aNGˈzīədē/     Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.

Prayer

Almighty God, I'm feeling overwhelmed. Break through my worries with a reminder of your presence. Enable me to be still and trust in you; to breathe deep and inhale the presence of your Spirit. As it says in Isaiah 43, when I pass through the waters, you are with me. So help me not to fear, for you have redeemed me, you have called me by name and I am yours forever. Give me strength and courage, and surround me with a support system of love and care. Lastly, please grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to distinguish one from the other. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
