Connecting Ministries

Who we are:
Connecting Ministries is a team of individuals with a passion for people. We seek to connect new and current members as well as active constituents to Jesus Christ through the works of His church. We exist to help believers discover their God-given spiritual gifts, abilities and passions; equipping them to magnify God and to accomplish their personal ministry in the church and life-mission in the world.

What we do:
We encourage awareness of the church as a caring, serving organization directly meeting the immediate needs of people through acts of kindness and service. These objectives are accomplished through the volunteer efforts of connecting ministry teams as well as through personal and group initiatives:

  • Hospitality Team - We train and equip hospitality ministry team members to be a welcoming presence before, during and after worship.
  • Communications Team - We provide and coordinate information to get people involved in the works and ministries of the church. We promote consistency in our message and graphic design while delivering positive and meaningful information. We encourage participation and spiritual growth.
  • Personal Invitations - Leading by example, we make personal invitations to bring people into the life of the church where they will find opportunities for spiritual growth and service to others.
  • Connecting with Newcomers - We seek to build relationships with newcomers while learning about their needs and interests. Our goal is to provide the connection between opportunities and involvement. “Connectors” volunteer to learn more about individuals and families who visit or express interest in our ministries. “Ministry Hosts” then make a personal invitation to newcomers to join them for a meeting or activity.

Where we do it:

  • In the church
  • In the community
  • Through internet communications
  • In print, through in-house publications and in community advertising

How we do it:

  • Awareness: We encourage our team members and everyone active in the church to be aware of newcomers to worship and other activities of the church. We equip our members and constituents to be inviting and helpful to others; to encourage a spirit of service to God and God’s people.
  • Communication: Share information in person, in print and on the web to increase and maintain awareness of the opportunities for worship, fellowship and service in the church and community.
  • Word of Mouth: Encourage awareness in the local community
  • Advertising and Marketing: Coordinate in print and on the web.
  • Service Evangelism: Encourage a willingness to help others in tangible and concrete ways.
  • Personal Invitation: Invite newcomers to active and involved as disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • Continuing Connections: Randomly contact individuals and families through Prayer Partners, a regular Sunday evening prayer group.

We welcome, listen and respond.

Why we do it:
We work to assimilate new disciples because we have a passion for God and a passion for people. We believe that God makes a difference in people’s lives. As the spiritual health of individuals is nurtured and grown, so will the body of Christ’s church grow and thrive in service to individuals and the community.
